The 27th meeting of the Research Evaluation Committee of Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) was held on Sunday (31 August) at 12:30 PM in the university’s conference room. The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak.

In his presidential address, the Vice Chancellor said, 'We must continue united efforts to further strengthen research-oriented education. The advancement of the nation will be accelerated if the quality of research improves. To this end, RUET has been working with utmost emphasis on research in higher education.'

The meeting discussed and approved several important agendas, including the minutes of the 26th meeting of the Research Evaluation Committee under the Office of Research & Extension, progress reports of ongoing activities, approval of various research projects under the second phase call for the fiscal year 2025–2026, honorarium for reviewers of submitted proposals, permission for recruitment of research assistants upon requests from project directors, and extension of previously approved projects from different fiscal years.

Committee members present included Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam of the Department of Mathematics, Professor Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam Sarkar of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman of the Department of Civil Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Shohel Rana of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Comptroller of Finance & Accounts Md. Nazimuddin Ahammad, and Chief Engineer of the Engineering Office Md. Shahadat Hossain.

The meeting was conducted by the Committee’s Member-Secretary and Director of the Office of Research & Extension, Professor Dr. Abdul Khaleque.
